Jakarta – Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, in a Hearing with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Senayan, Central Jakarta, expressed his gratitude for the generous support for the development of young Indonesian athletes.
In the meeting that took place on Monday (6/12), the Minister mentioned in particular the contribution from the Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, who has provided scholarships to U20 athletes for education at the Aspire Academy, Qatar.
Dito emphasized that this initiative is not related to political campaigns, but is a form of appreciation for individuals who contribute to the development of sports achievements in Indonesia.
“This is not about the campaign, but the fact that there are many good people in Indonesia who are committed to helping the younger generation achieve excellence in sports,” said the Minister.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of improving the quality and competence of national athletes, hoping for further budget support for this facilitation.
In addition, Minister Dito conveyed the government’s plans to improve the naturalization process for athletes. The goal is to ensure that naturalization is given to athletes with genuine Indonesian descent.
“We want to ensure that naturalization is only given to those who truly have Indonesian blood,” emphasized Dito. (SENOPATI)
