Ester Nenggokaka, a resident of Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, embodies a simple yet resilient way of life. Despite facing various challenges, Ester remains committed to providing the best care for her two children. By selling vegetables in the morning and tending to her family, she showcases exemplary determination.
One of Ester’s children, Lorensius Aganta, a two-year-old, was previously underweight at only 7 kilograms before benefiting from the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) program. Expressing her gratitude for this initiative, Ester highlights the positive impact it has had on her son’s health.
Through the consistent provision of MBG meals, Ester has observed a notable improvement in her son’s weight. She eagerly awaits the next health check at the local community clinic to track his progress. Every morning, Ester receives a nutritious range of food items such as eggs, fish, meat, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables for her children, ensuring they maintain a balanced diet.
Despite acknowledging the invaluable support of the MBG program, Ester maintains a hopeful outlook for the future. She envisions a better tomorrow and yearns for continued assistance from President Prabowo to enhance their living conditions. Despite facing difficulties like lack of electricity and land ownership, Ester finds comfort in the nourishing meals that sustain her child and foster optimism for the days to come.
