Justin Allgaier emerged victorious in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Darlington, securing his second win of the 2026 season and the 30th of his career. Despite Kyle Larson’s dominant performance throughout most of the race, it was Allgaier who ultimately took the checkered flag. His win was attributed to the exceptional work of his team, particularly his crew chief Andrew Overstreet, who strategized a successful last restart for Allgaier to secure the lead and claim the victory. Brandon Jones finished second, followed by Christopher Bell, Larson, and Carson Kvapil in the top five.
Larson’s strong showing included winning both stages and leading 107 of 147 laps. However, a slow pit stop hindered his chances of clinching the win. The race saw various incidents, such as A. Hill hitting the wall early on, Love spinning out on pit road, and Chastain incurring a penalty after contact on pit road.
During Stage 2, Larson continued his dominance, winning with a significant lead over his competitors. In Stage 3, B. Jones briefly took the lead after a pit stop, but Allgaier quickly surged ahead and maintained his position at the front of the pack. Despite a fierce battle with Larson in the final laps, Allgaier’s skill and determination secured the victory.
The race also witnessed several cautions, including a multi-car crash involving Kyle Sieg and Austin Hill. Despite challenges, Allgaier’s flawless execution during the restarts allowed him to regain and maintain the lead, ultimately crossing the finish line in first place.
