Cleetus McFarland recently shared a video on his Facebook page, expressing that NASCAR has not approved him to run superspeedways in the O’Reilly Series currently. Despite his enthusiasm, NASCAR has requested to see more races, particularly in ARCA and Trucks, before allowing him to compete on superspeedways. Cleetus acknowledged his short time in NASCAR and emphasized the importance of gaining more experience on the track, regardless of the series. He hopes to improve his skills and aim for races at Daytona and Talladega next year.
After analyzing Cleetus McFarland’s performance, Danny Lawrence of Richard Childress Racing predicted that NASCAR would require more races to assess the YouTuber’s capabilities. John Probst, NASCAR’s EVP and Chief Racing Development Officer, echoed similar sentiments on a podcast, emphasizing the need for Cleetus to demonstrate more on short tracks before considering approval for larger races. The racing community remains supportive of Cleetus and appreciates his contributions to the sport, hoping to see him excel in future competitions.
