Jakarta – Residents of Kampung Nelayan in Muara Angke, North Jakarta, expressed their gratitude for the floating and elevated houses initiated by Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, on Saturday (13/4).
One of the expressions of joy was conveyed by Iwan Susilo. He said that the house assistance provided to him was very decent and comfortable.
“It’s very comfortable, the house is nice. I wouldn’t be able to afford to build a house like this. I can’t even afford to eat,” said Iwan.
A similar impression was also expressed by Delina. She mentioned that the assistance from Prabowo made the residents of Kampung Nelayan happy.
“Alhamdulillah, we are happy with the assistance of floating and elevated houses from Minister Prabowo for our residents,” said the woman in a pink hijab.
In addition to receiving floating and elevated houses assistance, residents of Kampung Nelayan also received Eid al-Fitr gifts in the form of learning equipment for children.
“Thank you, Mr. Prabowo,” said the children in Kampung Nelayan while showing their black school bags.
Annisa, one of the residents, detailed the contents of the gifts from Prabowo. She took out several school supporting items such as pencil boxes, books, and socks.
“The contents include pants, socks, coloring books, lunch boxes, watch boxes, lots of things,” explained Annisa.
A total of 16 floating houses and 12 elevated houses with an area of 9 square meters were given by the Ministry of Defense to 18 families or 80 individuals. This is an effort to improve the welfare of local residents who are often affected by floods, tidal floods, and abrasion.
In addition, green open space arrangements and public facilities such as desalination to convert seawater into fresh water that can be used by residents of Kampung Nelayan are also carried out.
