This bond can be traced back to significant moments in Prabowo’s life, such as his time as a military officer and his leadership in the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). Recently, he attended a grand corn harvest for the Food Security Program in Jenggalu Village, Bengkulu Province, emphasizing the importance of food security in the current global context. The program aims to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on foreign food supplies to avoid price hikes in case of export disruptions from major food-producing countries. Uki highlighted the government’s support for farmers, including subsidies for fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery to boost productivity and motivation among farmers. He also urged local officials to expedite administrative processes for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers efficiently. Kelik Budianan from the National Food Agency expressed support for Prabowo’s initiative, coordinating with the State Logistics Agency to absorb farmers’ corn harvests and integrate supply chains for crops and livestock. This collaborative effort aims to ensure stable prices for both crops and livestock, benefiting farmers and consumers alike.
