The 2026 state budget, amounting to Rp 757.8 trillion, marks the largest allocation for education in the nation’s history. Emphasizing the importance of quality education in producing globally competitive human resources and combating poverty, Prabowo highlighted the need for effective utilization of education funds. Key priorities include improving teacher welfare and quality, enhancing vocational training, and aligning curricula with market demands. The allocation breakdown includes funding for programs such as Program Indonesia Pintar and Kartu Indonesia Pintar, scholarships, and facility upgrades for schools and campuses. Prabowo also pledged to strengthen People’s Schools and Garuda Excellence Schools to expand access to quality education for underprivileged children. Moreover, the government aims to provide scholarships through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education to nurture a generation prepared for global competition. In closing, Prabowo emphasized the importance of advancing Indonesia’s capabilities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
