Andra Farizki Ramdhani, a 10th-grade student at the People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta, has defied the odds despite growing up without a father. Raised by his hardworking single mother, Andra has found new hope through the People’s School initiative introduced by President Prabowo Subianto.
Despite facing financial hardships, Andra is grateful for the opportunity to receive a proper education at the People’s School. The initiative has not only sparked excitement for learning in him but has also helped in sharpening his intellect. He expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo for creating a platform that caters to individuals who may not have the means to afford education.
Transitioning to boarding school life at SRMA 10 has been a mix of challenges and rewards for Andra. Although he misses his family, he finds comfort and a sense of belonging among his peers. The structured daily routine, consisting of morning prayers, exercise, classes, and evening check-ins with his mother, keeps Andra grounded despite the monotony of it all.
The facilities at SRMA 10 have exceeded Andra’s expectations, providing a conducive learning environment that helps him stay focused. Engaging in extracurricular activities such as judo and joining various clubs has added value to his overall learning experience. Despite not having a father figure, Andra remains steadfast in his ambition to excel in judo and pursue higher education at the Defense University (Unhan) to honor his mother’s wishes.
Andra values the People’s School as a beacon of hope for underprivileged children like him who are eager to learn. Unlike traditional schools with additional costs, the People’s School eliminates financial burdens and offers equal opportunities for all students. With unwavering determination and the support of his mother, Andra believes that his dreams are well within reach through the transformative experiences provided by the People’s School.
